The $60 million project was jointly funded by the Australian Government ($20 million), the Victorian Government ($20 million) and other partners ($20 million). Australian Government funding was provided through the National Water Grid Fund.
Project overview
The project upgraded the Southern-Tinamba Supply Zone by replacing the upper channel system with a gravity pipeline and automation and modernisation of 32 km of the existing lower channel system.
The project has improved water efficiency through reduced losses, as well as increased water availability and security through the creation of an additional 9,700 megalitres of water for productive use.
