Project overview
The Water Pipework Replacement Program – Phase 1 project will replace aged and damaged water pipework in 20 remote First Nations communities in the Goldfields, Kimberley and Pilbara regions of Western Australia. The communities face high water loss and frequent burst pipes, contributing to total water outages.
The new infrastructure will increase water quality and reliability by reducing:
- water leakage
- burst pipes
- the likelihood of contamination.
This project is part of the Australian Government’s commitment to Close the Gap on water security for First Nations communities.
