Project overview
The project provides improved water security and service delivery for the Mitiamo and district region. The projected included construction of a:
- new pressurised pipeline to integrate water across the district
- pump station
- storage dam with capacity to hold 85 megalitres (ML).
The region is known for producing stock such as lamb, poultry and pigs and also produces cereal cropping and dairy. The Mitiamo and District Reticulated Water Supply Project will supply 4,600 ML per year to these industries while also supplying water for domestic use. These improvements will help sustain the regional economy into the future.
The project will also deliver water savings of approximately 1,000 ML per year to the Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder.
