The project was funded by the Australian Government ($300,000) and the Victorian Government ($385,000). Australian Government funding was provided through the National Water Grid Fund.
Project overview
This feasibility study assessed the feasibility of constructing a recycled water distribution network across the Mornington Peninsula Hinterland area. The network would distribute recycled water to see new and expanded horticultural opportunities in the region.
The feasibility study was completed in June 2022 and included detailed design and cost estimates for three recycled water treatment options. The assessment also undertook a comprehensive analysis of stakeholder and ecological considerations.
The Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning was reviewing the results of the feasibility study but has not expressed interest in progressing this project any further at this time.
