Project overview
The preliminary business case investigated the merits of modernising a network of 500 km of open channels and pipelines to 1,365 agricultural and rural customers located around the regional city of Bendigo.
The preliminary business case was completed in December 2022 and identified a number of modernisation options which could be further investigated as part of a detailed business case.
The Victorian Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action is considering the findings of the preliminary business case. If constructed, a modernised distribution network would improve the efficiency of the system, increasing water reliability and quality for existing users.
