Budget 2020: Building water infrastructure for the 21st Century

The Australian Government has announced an additional $2 billion for new water infrastructure projects, part of the Government’s plan for a National Water Grid that increases water security, builds resilience in our regions, delivers jobs and grows our agriculture sector. 

The National Water Grid Authority will continue to work closely with state and territory government partners, informed by a strong scientific evidence base, to identify, plan and invest in water infrastructure projects across the country that will deliver the next generation of water infrastructure.
